Use this routine to specify certain pricing and inventory information by location for selected products. First, specify a location. Second, specify one or more products for which you want to apply warehouse inventory information. Then, when one or more of the products appear on an order at the selected location, the system applies the specifications you enter here (for example, selling price).

You can also use this file to set maximum, minimum, and/or safety stock levels for each product/location combination. Note that the first time you receive inventory for a product into the system, if minimum and safety quantities have been set in the Advanced Product Settings, those settings default here. Otherwise, these fields remain blank until you modify them using this program.

Warehouse inventory records generate automatically when you use inventory receiving programs such as Receive a Purchase Order. If you don't use Location Tracking, you can use this routine to identify the storage location where you usually stock each product in each warehouse/store location.

A counter next to the Product field indicates a product list is currently active. The counter indicates which record in the list is currently being edited and the total number of records in the list.

To indicate that this product is considered "programmed stock" (part of the store lineup) at this location, check this box. This field is used if you check the Programmed Stock Only box when running the Report Floor Sample Needs routine. If this product was on a distributed transfer, the field is checked.

Use this field to enter the price (if any) at which to sell the selected product when sold at this location. To determine this field's place in the pricing hierarchy, consult the Pricing Rules.

When a kit's pricing is set to Component (Source of Price field in Product Kit Settings), it overrides the price in this field. The price in this field is used only if the Source of Price for the kit master is set to Product.

Enter the purchase status you want to assign to this product and location. Purchase statuses determine your ability to re-order a product. If you click on the Search button, a list of purchase status codes appears from which you can choose. To have the system automatically change the purchase status, click the Action button next to this field to access the Schedule Purchase Status screen where you can specify the date and the next purchase status.

If the open-order quantity exceeds the quantity in inventory for the selected product, the field is inactive.

Also, you can mass-assign purchase statuses by region via the Set Product Status by Region routine.

Stock Level Quantity

Use this field to enter the maximum quantity indicator (if any) for the selected product/location combination. The system references this quantity when generating certain reports that monitor inventory levels. If the number you enter here exceeds the quantity available, the system generates an exception and the exception appears on the report.

The Automatic Store Stock Replenishment feature also references this field when determining the quantity to transfer. If available quantity exists, the system transfers the quantity you enter here minus the available quantity.

The Maximum Stock Quantity field (if specified) in the Advanced Product Settings defaults into this field during the initial receipt of this product at a given location, but you can override the default.

Use this field to enter the minimum quantity indicator (if any) for the selected product/location combination. This field works with the Safety field (see below) to instruct the system to issue warnings when inventory nears depletion. For example, you can use the Minimum level to indicate a serious situation, and the Safety level to indicate a critical situation.

The EOD process references this quantity when generating certain reports that monitor inventory levels. If the number you enter here exceeds the quantity available, the system generates an exception and the exception appears on the report. The Replenish Assigned Stock Levels at Stores routine also issues exceptions in the same way.

In addition, if you specify "Minimum" at the Available is Less Than Minimum Stock field, then the Automatic Store Stock Replenishment feature references this field when determining whether to generate transfers to replenish inventory. If the number you enter here exceeds the quantity available for any item in the product/location combination, the system transfers inventory (provided sufficient inventory is available).

The Minimum Stock Quantity field (if specified) in the Advanced Product Settings defaults into this field during the initial receipt of this product at a given location, but you can override the default.

Use this field to enter the safety quantity indicator (if any) for the selected product/location combination. This field works with the Minimum field (see above to instruct the system to issue warnings when inventory becomes depleted. For example, you can use the Minimum level to indicate a serious situation, and the Safety level to indicate a critical situation.

In addition, if you specify "Safety" at the Available is Less Than Minimum Stock field, then the Automatic Store Stock Replenishment feature references this field when determining whether to generate transfers to replenish inventory. If the number you enter here exceeds the quantity available for any item in the product/location combination, the system transfers inventory (provided sufficient inventory is available).

The Safety Stock Quantity field (if specified) in the Advanced Product Settings defaults into this field during the initial receipt of this product at a given location, but you can override the default.

The following two settings, Velocity and Storage Category, are used by the directed putaway process to attempt to match the product’s velocity setting with the storage location’s velocity and/or the product’s storage category with the storage location’s storage category.

If you use directed putaway processing, you can use this optional field to indicate the velocity for the selected product at this location. Enter the velocity code or click the Search button to select a code from the list.

To determine a product's velocity, the system checks this field first. If it is blank, the system then checks the product's velocity setting.

If you use directed putaway processing, you can use this optional field to indicate the storage category for the selected product at this location. Enter the storage category or click the Search button to select a category from the list.

Distribution Status

The following three fields can be used only with products whose Inventory Type is set to Retail Inventory, Retail Part, or Retail Labor. These settings can also be established in District and Regional Product Settings and/or Advanced Product Settings. The system uses the standard product hierarchy to determine a product’s distribution status, checking for these settings in the following order: Warehouse Inventory Settings, District/Regional Product Settings, and then Advanced Product Settings.

If you use the multi-legged transfers feature, you can use this optional field to assign a Distribution Status code to this product at the warehouse/store location level. The code you indicate determines the default stocking location of the product and whether or not it can be entered or reserved on a sales order, exchange or transfer. Click the Search button to access the Read-Only Lookup Window, where you can select a distribution status code.

Use these two fields, "On this Date" and "Change Status to", to update the distribution status of this product at the warehouse/store location level. Once you have established the date and new distribution status, you then schedule the Update Distribution Status process to run using the Schedule a Process program. Based on the end of day date and the status change date, the update process changes the "Current Status is" field to the status in "Change Status to". These fields are then reset to null.

Click the calendar icon at the "On this Date" field to select the date on which you want the "Current Status is" field updated. The date you select here must be greater than the system date. Next, click the Search button at the "Change Status to" field to access the Read-Only Lookup Window, where you can select the new distribution status code that you want to replace the "Current Status is" code.

This setting determines how cross docking merchandise is handled for this product in this location. The default for this field is Use Product Settings, which indicates that the Include in Cross Dock setting in Advanced Product Settings is used to determine whether to print cross dock labels and prioritize assignment from cross dock locations for this product. If you select Include at this field, the product in the warehouse/store location should calculate and print cross dock labels and prioritize cross dock storage locations when assigning pieces. The Exclude option indicates that the product in the warehouse/store location does not print cross dock labels and does not prioritize picking from cross dock locations. This setting is exported to Data Warehouse.

The hierarchy for assigning pieces is to assign from priority pick locations, then cross dock locations, pick zones, and then all other storage locations.
