Tabs:  Search for Schedules, Confirm Schedule

Use this program to schedule one or more deliveries/returns, service orders, or warehouse transfers for a selected date. The transactions you select appear in a grid on the Confirm Schedule tab. The grid legend can be found in the Logistical Scheduling Screen Grid topic.

You can access orders directly from the Confirm Schedule tab if a check appears at the Access Order Entry field on the Delivery tab in the Point of Sale Control Settings.

The read-only version of this routine is called View Delivery Schedules.  In that routine, you can view but not edit data, for example orders already on a manifest.

If the Recalculate Delivery Charge field is enabled in the Point of Sale Control Settings, the system recalculates delivery charges if a user changes any of the following on an order:

    - delivery date

    - delivery status from EST to SCH

    - route code

To consolidate all orders with the same customer and delivery address into a single delivery stop, check the box at the Consolidate Stops field in the Route Capacity Control Settings.

Service lines with a Closed Without Completion status as designated in Status Code Settings are recognized as closed lines.

Scheduling Orders with Multiple Delivery Dates

If you change an available delivery date to an existing date or create a new date, the system updates all lines and line quantities associated with the original date.  If you schedule lines for a date that does not yet exist, the system updates the order and inserts the new date into the appropriate place among the Available Delivery Dates.

If multiple delivery dates exist and you change the Next Delivery Date so that it is no longer the next chronological delivery date, the system re-assigns the Next Delivery Date status to the "new" next delivery date.  A warning message appears but you can proceed. All lines and line quantities scheduled for the original Next Delivery Date remain associated with that delivery, but the system moves the date back in the list of delivery dates.

In the Delivery Scheduling process, the system selects documents with delivery dates that fall within the date range you specify.  Documents with multiple delivery dates appear on the Promised list for each of the available delivery dates. Thus, a single document can appear multiple times in the grid.  For this reason, if the Multiple Delivery Dates feature is active on your system, the ability to manually specify documents as opposed to selecting them from the grid is restricted.

Sorting the Grid

When you first load the grid, the sort defaults to customer name in ascending order.  If you click on a column header, the grid sorts by that column in ascending order. If you click on the column header a second time, the grid sorts by that column in descending order.  If you click on the column a third time, the grid returns to the default sorting order.
