Merchandising and Distribution > Inventory > Tags and Labels > Floor Tag Print > Print an Inventory Floor Tag
Use this routine to print accessory labels and hang tags for regular or as-is A status of inventory. Most inventory is considered "regular" inventory. As-is inventory includes everything other than regular inventory, including floor samples, damaged and clearance items, etc. inventory products.
This routine
may be affected by Regional
Processing restrictions, meaning that you may not have access to all
customers and locations.
The text "Direct Ship" or an established image can print on an
inventory floor tag if the Direct Ship
field on the Miscellaneous page of Advanced
Product Settings is set to either Allowed or Required. If printing
for a kit (Hangtag Kit or Hangtag As-Is Kit), the text or image associated
with this ELP data tag is available only for the kit master portion of
the label and not the kit components.
Use the Product Family
Settings routine to establish attributes for product families.
Product AdjustmentEnter
the code of product
adjustment record for which to print floor tags. If you click on the
Search button, the Product Adjustment Lookup window displays all product
adjustment records available to you. Note that the system does not accept
replacement cost adjustments at this field.
If you specify a product adjustment code, the program processes only the
products associated with that code and thus inactivates many of the other
options on this screen. Likewise, if you choose one of the other options,
the Product Adjustment field becomes unavailable.
Prices Effective OnEnter the date on which to
make promotional prices effective for the products on your print list.
Use this field to print tags in advance of a future sales promotion.
If you leave this field blank, promotional prices appear on tags only if
you print on a date that falls within the promotional date range (specified
in the Promotional Pricing section of the Advanced
Product Settings) for each selected product.
However, if the date you enter here falls within the promotional date range
for one or more products on the list, the promotional price (if any) prints
on the tag, regardless of whether you print on a date that falls within
the promotional date range.
For example, assume it is July 20 and you have a promotion starting on
July 22. You want to print floor tags in advance of the sale to
have them ready. You have updated all the relevant products in your
Product file with sale prices and the date range of the promotion. If
you now enter July 22 here and click on Run, the program searches the
Product file for all products on your hang tag list for which July 22
falls within the promotional date range. For all products found, the program
retrieves the sale price (if any) and prints it on the tag.
Note that if you specify a response at the Product Adjustment field above,
or set the Stock Type prompt to anything other than All Stock, you inactivate
this field. If you enter a date here, you inactivate those fields.
To print floor tags for as-is A status of inventory. Most inventory is considered "regular" inventory. As-is inventory includes everything other than regular inventory, including floor samples, damaged and clearance items, etc. products only, check the box. Otherwise, leave the box blank.
If you use
Label Matrix label templates when printing tags for as-is products,
be sure to select an as-is label template
at the PC File Name field below.

select the As-Is field, you can use this field to restrict As-Is products
by Reason code. Click on the Search button to select one reason code.

for which you want to print floor tags. The default location from the
log-in

If you click on the Arrow, you can choose from the drop-down list of locations
available to you. Note that here
and at any other Location field, the locations you see (that is, the list
of locations available to you) may be affected by Regional
Processing restrictions.
Use this field to select the product family codes to be included on product family hang tags. Click the Action button to select one or more product family codes using the Multiple Product Family Selection window. If you click the Search button, you can select a single product family from the list. When you select single or multiple product family codes at this field, the products in those families are printed on a single tag in the order in which they appear in Product Family Settings. The number of labels generated is based on the Print Quantity value on this screen.
Selection of a product family or families inactivates the following fields: Product Adjustment, As-Is, Reason Code, Serial Number, Product, Group, Category, Brand, and Collection. In addition, the Print Method is set to Forms Designer and the Form Name field contains a list of form descriptions for the form type Product Family Hangtag. The Sort By field is set to No Sort and the Kits Only field is set to Both Kits and Non-Kits and the Stock Type is set to All Stock. Label Type is set to POS Hang Tags.
If you leave this field blank, you do not have the option to select the Product Family Hangtag form for printing.
Enter the code of the product for which you want to print tags. If you click on the Search button, you access the Search for a Product window from which you can create a list of products for tag printing. If you click on the Action button, you access the Multiple Product Selection Window, from which can select one or more products from a list. If you leave the field blank, you select all products.

Regardless, if stock is available at the specified location, a message appears asking if you want to use all of the pieces for the print job. If you say No, the appropriate serial number selection screen appears (that is, one of the two listed above), from which you can choose one, multiple, or all of the as-is pieces for printing.

- at least one of the Floor Sample pieces is stored in the location specified at the Store Location field.
The program prints labels only up to the maximum number of Floor Sample pieces found for a selected product at the selected location - regardless of the number you enter at this field.
For example, assume you enter three products at the Product field - one with three floor sample items, the second with one floor sample, and the third with no floor samples. All of these floor samples reside in the specified location. Assume also that you enter a quantity of two at this field. The program will print two tags for the first product, one tag for the second product, and none for the third.
