You can use the Float feature to facilitate the movement of merchandise during picking and putaway to and from the bin areas. During the putaway process, floats are physical devices used to transport the merchandise. During the picking process, floats are used with scanning as moveable units and incorporate the use of an interim location and status. Floats are used to track the movement of merchandise as a group in the picking, preparation, and load processes for delivery to the store locations and to customer. Multiple floats can be scanned from an interim location and dropped off at another location by float into the next picking status.
During picking, you scan the float and the merchandise to be picked. Once the float is full or you have completed your current pick assignment, you drop the float at the interim location by scanning the interim location label. All merchandise on the float is updated with the change in location, without the need to scan individual labels.
