eSTORIS Troubleshooting Guide

After you make changes to Web Categories via Web Category Settings (including making them available on web, updating the description etc.), regenerate the XML menu in the eSTORIS Web Admin area.

After assigning representative products to Web Categories via Web Category Settings or to Web Masters via Web Master Settings, you need to regenerate the XML menu in the eSTORIS Web Admin area.

Typically, STORIS/eSTORIS supports 2 levels of navigation on the website.  These 2 levels are dynamically written to a local XML file on the web server called "cats.xml".  To add a 3rd level, you must edit the XML file and add sub-nodes for the additional categories you want to drill into.

Once you edit the XML menu file, going forward you must manually update the file.

These procedures are technical in nature and are best implemented by someone with web code experience. First, FTP to the web server and locate the following directory: www/images/slider-images. There you will see image file names such as slide1.png, slide2.png etc. (See image below.)

Next, you can upload the new slider image to that location by either replacing an existing one with a file of the same name or by adding a new one whose file name increments by 1. For example, Slide6.png. Next locate the file "home-definitions.asp" in the www folder and update the section that references the slider images and their corresponding links. It should look similar to the following:

The Available On Web setting in the following three screens must be enabled in order for the product to display on your website.

• Brand Settings

• Advanced Product Settings

• Web Category Settings

Product image synchronization happens every hour, on the hour. If you have just updated a product’s image in STORIS via  Update Product Images (Image Wizard), check your site at the top of the next hour and it should be displayed. Also remember that the product (and its corresponding Brand and Web Category) must be set as “Available on Web” in order for the product (or its image) to show on your site.

After setting products as company or category specials, you need to “Update Specials” in the eSTORIS Admin area.

This occurs when the product is in a Web Category that is not set to be “Available on Web”.

The zip codes you plan on delivering to need to have a route code associated with them. You can update route codes in Logistical Route Settings and assign them to zip codes in Individual Zip Codes.

eSTORIS website requests access the STORIS database via middleware called WebDE (previously known as Redback). In order to handle and route requests to the appropriate program/method in the STORIS database, a responder (or webshare) is required. Each responder consumes a U2 license, as it essentially acts as a logged on system user waiting for requests from the web. On Windows machines, these responders log in as the user “SYSTEM”, while on AIX systems, the logged on responders are logged on as the user “redback”.

The following needs to be set up in order for mail to be sent from the STORIS server.

• In Notifications Control Settings, be sure the box for STORIS Server Can Send Emails is checked as shown below.
