External Communications Settings

Enter up to 30 characters to identify the MCM server. It is recommended that the ID be kept short and simple, such as MCM1, MCM2, etc. Each MCM server must be assigned a unique identifier and once an identifier is established, it cannot be deleted.

Use this free text field to enter up to 30 characters to describe this MCM server. This field can be used to identify the provider that the MCM server is associated with and/or the specific region or group of stores associated with the server. Click the Action button to access the Description Field - Language Translation Entry screen.

Enter the IP address assigned to the MCM server. The address must be entered in either IPv4 or IPv6 format.

Enter the IP port number upon which all MCM communications traffic appears. This entry must be numeric and must be in the range of 1-65535.

Use this field to specify the warehouse/store locations that use this MCM server. Click the Arrow button to select a location from the list or click the Action button to access the Multiple Location Selection Window, where you can select multiple or all locations. Once a location is associated with an MCM server, it cannot be associated with another. You must remove the location from the original server before it can be assigned to a different server.

Use this field to specify the pin pad ID (terminal ID) or the MOTO terminal ID where the refund should be processed in the event that a refund is being processed at a location using a different server than the server used for the original transaction. Up to 30 characters can be entered in this field.

Use this setting to specify the settlement type that the Tender Retail server is using.  You have the following options:

• Host Based - Select this option to indicate that the server being maintained is set to operate in 'host based' settlement mode.  The STORIS server does not issue any commands to the Tender Retail server, which in turn does not issue any commands to the host server in order to close the batch for a terminal.  The acquirer's host server closes the batch, produces the report, and funds transactions in the batch.

• Terminal Based - Select this option to indicate that the server being maintained is set to operate in 'terminal based' settlement mode.  The STORIS server sends messages to the Tender Retail server, which in turn sends messages to the acquirer's server to close the batch and release the funds to the merchant.  The pin pad must send a message to the acquirer's server indicating that the batch should be closed.

The default setting for settlement type is Terminal Based.  The settlement process can be run during EOD or on demand.  STORIS skips host based terminals during the settlement process.  When the settlement type is set to terminal based, STORIS captures the batch totals returned for each pin pad from the acquirer. STORIS can then report the batch totals on the Report Error Messages during EOD.

The grid lists the server settings you established using this screen. Listed are: MCM Server ID, Description, IP Address, IP Port Number, Location, Refund Terminal ID, and Settlement Type. Double-click a line to modify settings for a selected server or to remove it from the grid.

Use this free text field to enter up to 30 characters to describe this UTG server. This field can be used to identify the provider that the UTG server is associated with and/or the specific region or group of stores associated with the server. Click the Action button to access the Description Field - Language Translation Entry screen.

Enter the UTG server address or name.

Enter the port number upon which all UTG communications traffic appears. This entry must be numeric and must be in the range of 1-65535.

Use this field to specify the warehouse/store locations that use this UTG server. Click the Arrow button to select a location from the list or click the Action button to access the Multiple Location Selection Window, where you can select multiple or all locations. The same Location can be associated to more than one UTG server.

If removing a location, validation is performed to ensure there are no associated UTGs before removing the location. Validation is also performed for EMV terminals assigned to the current UTG server associated with that location.

This grid contains the following columns. Select a line from the grid to maintain settings for that server. When removing a UTG server from the grid, validation is performed to ensure there are no payment terminals associated with the UTG before removing it. If payment terminals are associated with the UTG server you wish to delete, you must exit this process to manually remove the payment terminals from EMV Terminal Settings. After removing the associated payment terminals, you then can return to this process in order to delete the UTG server.
