Use this routine to customize user-defined Forms Designer layouts. STORIS Standard forms cannot be edited. In the right pane of the Form Management window, select the form you want to edit, then click on the Design Form button in the left pane. The Forms Designer window opens to display the layout of the selected form in the left pane. The Forms Designer window consists of four sections (see Figure 1):
Formatting Tools
Toolbox
Form Layout
Data Management
- Data box / Report Explorer box
- Properties box
If you access the Forms Designer window and your current version
is not equal to the SCI version, the Select Designer Version screen appears.
This screen displays your current version number and provides the
option to design the form using either your current version or the SCI
version. STORIS strongly recommends you use the SCI version.
If you choose to upgrade, the latest version of the Forms Designer loads
and a message appears advising you that all workstations must be running
the current SCI version throughout your organization.

ToolboxThe Toolbox allows you to insert items such as text boxes, images, and bar codes into your form. The Toolbox is only available on the Report Designer tab. More information about the Toolbox can be found in the Toolbox topic. The Toolbox may be closed (see Figure 2) when Forms Designer is opened. To open and view the Toolbox without leaving it fully expanded, hover your pointer over the Toolbox icon and view or select a function. You may close the Toolbox by clicking anywhere outside of the Toolbox. To keep the Toolbox expanded, either hover your pointer over the Toolbox or click on it. When it expands, click the pin icon (Dock button) in the Toolbox's upper right corner. To close or hide the Toolbox, click the pin icon again.
Form LayoutThe Form Layout changes with the tab selected in the Formatting Tools section. Data ManagementThe Data Management pane (Figure 3) is only available when the Report Designer tab is selected. It contains the following three sections, each of which contains options to design or add data to the form shown in the Form Layout.
