The Sales Access Security field in the Point of Sale Control Settings enables you to require users to specify their password before accessing certain sales reports and inquiries, and also allows you, via the View All Sales Information field in Create a User/Group Actions - Sales Security, to restrict users' access to only their own sales or to sales from the location to which they are currently logged.
To activate Sales Access Security, check the box at the Sales Access Security field in the Point of Sale Control Settings. When Sales Access Security is active, users must specify their password to access the following routines:
View Salesperson Activity (To view salesperson activity, the View Salesperson's Sales Activity field in the Point of Sale Control Settings must also be active.)
When Sales Access Security is active, you can use the View All Sales Information field in Create a User/Group Actions - Sales Security settings to further restrict a user's access to data in sales reports affected by Sales Access Security. The View All Sales Information field provides the following options:
No - the system restricts users to accessing only their own sales information. The Salesperson fields in the affected routines become inactive, and the user's ID code defaults into the field.
Yes - the system does not restrict users access to sales information. When this option is selected, a prompt appears to specify the store location.
Store - the system restricts users to accessing only the sales information from the current log-in location. The Store or Location fields in the affected routines become inactive, and the current log-in location defaults into the field.
