Route Capacity Settings

Access

Use this routine to set specific delivery-capacity cutoff points for individual routes on a monthly basis. The route-specific cutoff points you specify here override the global cutoff points you specify in the Route Capacity Control Settings.

The grid contains 31 rows, allowing you to specify delivery-capacity cutoff points for each day of the month. The first time you access a specific month/year/route code combination, the defaults (if any) from the Route Capacity Control Settings display in the grid. You can override the defaults.  When complete, click on Save to initialize the route code for the month.

If you do not initialize the route code for the month, you cannot schedule orders to that route code for that month. Note that if you access a route code in this routine and then click on Clear or Exit without making any changes, if the option to discard changes appears anyway, the route code has not been initialized for that calendar month.

 If you access the Read-Only version of this screen, all fields except the Day field are inactive. 

To consolidate orders with the similar delivery information into a single delivery stop, use the Consolidate Stops field in the Route Capacity Control Settings.  

Once you enter a valid month, year, and route code, the calendar for the selected month appears, displaying the available dates. Days may be unavailable either because

• a cutoff limit has been reached or

• the date is prior to the current system date.

The dates and days of the week for the selected month display in the grid along with the actual (current) and maximum (cutoff) settings for each.

MonthEnter the two-digit number of the month whose route capacity settings you want to modify.  The current month defaults.  If you click on the Arrow button, a list of months appears from which you can choose.  

YearEnter the four-digit number of the year containing the month whose route capacity settings you want to modify.  The current year defaults.  If you click on the Arrow button, a list of years appears from which you can choose.  Note that you cannot enter a past year into this field.

Route Type

Route CodeEnter the code of the route whose routing calendar you want to modify.  If you click on the Arrow button, a list of routes appears from which you cam choose. Note that your selection at the Route Type field affects the list of route codes available to you at this field.

DayEnter the day of the selected month for which to modify routing cutoffs.   

StopsEnter the maximum number of stops you want to allow for the selected date. To prevent deliveries on this day, enter zero.  If you leave this field blank, the system does not check or monitor that day.  

DollarEnter the maximum dollar value you want to allow for deliveries on the selected date.  To prevent deliveries on this day, enter zero.  If you leave this field blank, the system does not check or monitor that day. This field is inactive if the Route Type is set to Transfer.

UnitsEnter the maximum number of units you want to allow for deliveries on the selected date.  To prevent deliveries on this day, enter zero.  If you leave this field blank, the system does not check or monitor that day.
