Option Type Configuration
Access
Use the Option Type file to create the product variations you later apply to a product "frame" in the Product Configurator. Option types are groups into which you can organize your product options. Examples of option types include main fabric, fringe fabric, throw pillow, etc. Examples of options include main fabric (red), blue fringe fabric, large throw pillow.
VendorEnter the code of the vendor you want to associate with this option type. To select from a list of valid vendor codes, click the Search button to the right of the entry field .
Option TypeEnter a code to represent this option type. To access a list of previously created Option Types for this vendor, click the Search button to the right of the entry field.
Important For upholstery, an option type representing the main or primary fabric must be in the first position of the Product Configurator.
Also The option types you create to represent the main or primary fabric do not need to be named BAL, as in previous revisions.
Description Enter a text description for this option type. This description displays on the Special Order Configurator screen during sales order entry.
GroupTo indicate the group to which this option type belongs, select Fabric or Other.

Sub-Options
You can establish additional sub-options for the selected option type. Sub-options represent additional levels of options you can establish for option types.
Option TypeEnter the code you want to represent the option type for this sub-option. To access a list of previously created Option Types for this vendor, click the Search button to the right of the entry field.
RequiredIf the box is checked at this field, this sub-option prompt is required on the configurator entry screen. If you remove the check at this field, sub-option entry is not required. The default for this field is checked.
ListsAfter you create the initial Option Type record, the system leaves this field blank. Following List Configuration maintenance, you can use this field to indicate lists of options available for this option type.
DefaultYou can specify a default value for this sub-option. If you use this optional field, your entry must belong to the list for this sub-option.
