Use this routine to establish sub-option rules, used with the special order configurator sub-option screen to apply rules to the entry of sub-options.
VendorEnter the code of the vendor
with which this sub-option rule is to be used. If you click the Search
button, you access a list of vendors
from which you can choose.
Option TypeSpecify
the Option Type that this rule applies to.
Your entry in this field is used along with the vendor code and rule ID
to identify this sub-option rule. If you click the Search button, you
access a list of option types from which you can select.
RuleYou can enter a code of up
to twenty (20) characters to identify this sub-option rule. Your entry
in this field is used along with the vendor code and option type ID to
identify this sub-option rule. If you click the Search button, you access
a list of existing sub-option rules, from which you can select a rule
to edit.
Option TypeIndicate
the option type that is to be used for the
rule comparison. This is a mandatory field. If you click the Search button,
you access a list of option types from which you can select.
LevelUse this field to indicate
whether the option type entered (in the field to the left of this field)
is at the Sub (option) or Parent level. The default is Sub.
This is a required field. The default value is Equal. Select the operand for this rule. Your choices are:
Equal ( = )
Not Equal ( # )
Assigned (AS)
Not Assigned (NA)
If you select Assigned, it indicates that the rule line is to be evaluated as true for the option type if an option has been entered. If you select Not Assigned, it indicates that the rule line is to be evaluated as true for the option type if an option has not been entered and the option is left blank. The Not Assigned operand can be used in situations where the configurator option, when chosen, requires that the other options be left blank.
OptionIf you are selecting a List,
leave this field blank. Otherwise, enter the option
(associated with the option type you selected at the Option Type field)
for which the rule is testing the option type. If you click the Search
button, you access a list of Options from which
you can select a code. If you enter an option here, the List, 2nd Option
Type, and Level fields are not available.
ListIf you left the Option field
blank, you can use this field to specify the list
of values for which the rule is testing the option type. If you enter
a List here, the Option, 2nd Option Type, and Level fields are not available.
If you click the Search button, you can select a List
code from the grid.
Comparison Option TypeIf you
left the Option and List fields blank, you can use this field to specify
the option type whose value the rule is
comparing to the Option Type value. Your response here must be different
than the response in the Option Type field. If you click the Search button,
you access a list of option types from which you can select. If you enter
a second Option Type here, the Option and List fields are not available.
LevelUse this field to indicate
whether the 2nd option type entered (in the field to the left of this
field) is at the Sub (option) or Parent level. The default is Sub.
OperatorEnter
the logical operator (that is, AND or OR) joining this rule line entry
with the next rule line. The default value is ‘AND’. An operator
is never required for the last row in the grid. An operator is required
when there are multiple tests (values) as part of the rule. Operators
may not be mixed. They must all be ‘AND’ or ‘OR’.
The grid displays the Option Type, Option, List, 2nd Opt Type, Operand, and Operator for each rule line entry you add.
Specify one of the following:
Option
List
2nd Option Type
If the row being added is preceded by a row that does not have an operator, you must add an operator to that row.
If you attempt to remove the last row in the grid, the operator (if any) must be removed from the preceding row.
