As-is inventory includes everything other than regular inventory, including floor samples, damaged and clearance items, etc. Kit A group of stock products organized into a set so as to be sold as a package or suite. You create as-is versions of kit masters by assigning a reference number to the kit and specifying the products in the kit by serial number.
To create regular inventory kits, use the Product Kit Settings routine.
To add a special-order product A product whose characteristics you can modify such as color or fabric. STORIS lists these custom options in descriptions for special-order products, allowing you to identify individual products based on their unique characteristics. to a kit, open the kit in the Product Kit Settings routine and check the box at the As-Is Only field. Then return here to add the special-order item.
Enter the code of the kit master you want to create or edit. If you click on the Search button, you access the Search for a Product window, which you can use to search for existing products. If the code you enter exists in your system, the system performs the following checks to confirm the entry is qualified to be an as-is kit master:
Hard Kit – The kit master specified may not be a soft kit.
Component kits – Components may not be other kits.
Bulk Products – Components may not be bulk products.
Non-Inventory – Components must be regular inventory.
If the entry does not exist in your system, a message appears asking if you want to create a new kit master product using the code you entered. If you answer Yes, the Product Settings screen appears where you can create the new kit master product. When you finish entering the product data, the system returns to the Create an As-Is Kit screen, where you build the As-Is kit.
To create a new kit master product, you can click the Action button at this field. The Product Settings screen appears. Depending on your Purchasing Control Settings, a product code is automatically generated or you manually assign a product code to the new kit master product.
ReferenceEnter the reference number of the kit you want to view. If creating a new as-is kit and auto-numbering is active on your system, press [Enter] to have the system assign the next sequential number.
If you click on the Search button when the field is empty, you access the Kit Inventory/Availability Inquiry, which you can use to aid your search.
The reference number allows you to distinguish kits with the same kit master name. For example, one kit may have a minor scratch while another may have a damaged leg. You want to know this when, for example, you are pricing the as-is kits.
This display-only field shows additional information about this kit after the Reference field is populated. The information shown here is defaulted from the Comments field in Product Kit Settings.
Enter the code of the location where the kit components reside. This field is active only when specifying a new As-Is kit.
Reason Enter the code of the reason why this kit has been assigned a status of as-is. Note that the reason you specify cannot be flagged as "Not Available for Sale" in the Reason Settings.
Detail Use this field to enter text (if any) describing the as-is kit.
The current status of the kit appear. Possible statuses include the following:
Unassigned
Assigned (Order Key)
Use this drop down to select the default selling price of this as-is kit.
Kit Master - The selling price of the kit master. This is the default option.
Components - The total of the selling price of each as-is piece. The piece contributes to the total selling price only after its Serial/Reference number has been established in the below grid. If this option is selected, changes to a serial/reference will update the selling price.
Even with the default selling price established here, the selling price can still be overridden by a user.
Selling Price Enter the selling price of the as-is kit. The Kit Selling Price appears as a default value. you can edit the default.
The components of the kit appear in the grid, one line for each piece in the kit. If the kit contains more than one of a single item, a line appears in the grid for each of the quantity.
You use the Serial/Reference column to assign serial numbers to the items in the grid. Click on the Serial/Reference cell in the row you want to edit to highlight the cell. Enter the serial number directly, or click on the Actions button to access the As-Is Inventory Inquiry, which you can use to identify the serial numbers of existing products.
