Data Conversion FAQs

This topic contains a list of questions frequently asked by STORIS users about data conversion. If you click on a question, the answer appears. Please note that more than one solution may exist for a given situation. Read the answers completely to determine which method best suits your company's needs.

Important: Before running any of the data conversion programs in STORIS, we strongly recommend that you discuss these procedures with your STORIS Project Coordinator.

STORIS provides Conversion Spreadsheet documents you use to create the data files which you then import into the system. The documents are in Microsoft® Excel format. Be sure you have the latest version of the spreadsheet. There are several conversions available, including Data Conversion, GL Conversion, etc. You can download the latest Conversion Spreadsheet (or GL Conversion Spreadsheet, etc.) from the STORIS secure web site's Spreadsheet Downloads page. For more information about using these spreadsheets, consult with your STORIS Project Coordinator.

Each time you run the Import Data process, the program produces an error report. The report provides information for each record indicating if the record was converted, not converted, or converted with conditions. Please refer to the Import Data topic for more detail.

If Quantity-On-Hand (QOH) conversions were run, you can print the Report Value of Inventory outline to verify the data converted.
