The Time-Out feature is a security feature that suspends a user's session after a specified period of inactivity. There are two time-out methods used in STORIS: Menu Timeout and Login Timeout.
If you established a Menu Timeout period and it is active for the user, the system exits the user from the STORIS application at the expiration of the time-out period. The user is returned to the STORIS User Log In screen. At that point the user is logged out of STORIS and is no longer utilizing a STORIS license. The user is still logged into the operating system and is utilizing a U2 license.
If you established a Login Timeout, the user is disconnected from the operating system (U2) at the expiration of the time-out period, and returned to the operating system prompt. The user has fully exited STORIS and U2, and both licenses have been released. At that point, the user must re-start SCiX and perform the operating system login.
To use the time-out feature, establish the following settings.
Specify menu and login time-out periods on the Security tab of General System Control Settings:
Menu Timeout
Login Timeout
Enable the Menu Timeout Active setting for specific User Groups.
