Use Level Pricing as an alternative to the customer-based pricing system that uses the Price/Spiff/Commission table to calculate product prices. Level Pricing establishes prices by store or location. In this way, you can create different pricing schemes (or "levels") for your various locations. The discounts you apply to products on sales orders can be printed on sales documents using the Forms Designer.
When you activate Level Pricing, the system de-activates Price/Spiff/Commission pricing, and vice-versa.
To activate Level Pricing (via the Pricing/Level field on the Pricing and Commissions Tab in the Point of Sale Control Settings), contact your STORIS representative. This field activates the Pricing Level Table via which you apply level pricing to individual products. Then, you must specify the default price level for your location via the Pricing Level field on the Settings tab in the Location Settings (Warehouse Location) file.
To set up your system for Level Pricing, you create a table of price level calculations, each designed to meet the needs of one or more of your store locations. You use the Pricing Level Control Table in the Level Pricing Settings (Level Pricing System Control). Then, for each product to which you want to apply Level Pricing, you specify a starting price level (for example, a wholesale price) in the Pricing Level Table. The Pricing Level Control Table uses this price as a base for its calculations.
The price levels you enter are distinct from the prices you enter in the Product file (for example, Selling Price), and are used for Level Pricing exclusively. If Level pricing has not been applied to a product (via the Pricing Level Table or the Pricing Level Control Table), the system reverts to the standard STORIS pricing hierarchy for the product. Level Pricing overrides Regional/District pricing.
You must load and calculate your price levels before they become active in the system. Each time you edit a price level formula, you must re-calculate your formulas. To do so, you can run Load Price Levels or Convert Data (Conversion Process). You can also re-calculate selected price levels using the Recalculate field in the Level Pricing Settings.
You can override the default price level for a location. Specify a code at the Price Code field in the Advanced Product Settings (Product Full) record, then enter the code in the Store Price Level Settings, associating it with the location and the new price level. The new price level overrides the default price level.
