Use this screen to re-open a previously closed service merchandise line, for example a line previously closed on this or another service order. This process only works for service orders that are open but have closed lines. In order to reinstate a line from a completed order, a new service order must be created where the line to be reinstated on the closed order can be done so in the new service order.
Non-merchandise and stock service order lines are not available for reinstatement.
The following settings must be enabled in order to use this screen:
Allow Service Order to be Reinstated field on the General Information tab of Service Control Settings
Reinstate completed service orders field in Create a User/Group Actions - Service Security
The header contains the Customer Code, Customer Name, and Current Document information. This information is brought over from the service order.
After the document and line to reinstate is selected, click the Add button. The line is added to the grid. To update the entry and return to the service order process, click the Save button. A new service line on the current service order is created for the selected closed service line. The original problem code and text display in the grid. Linked parts, labor or charge lines are not included and automatic charged are not linked to the new service line.
Document comments update on both the original and new documents as an audit trail.
