STORIS Messenger is an internal email system you can use to exchange electronic messages with other STORIS users. With this, you can:
send messages to individual users and/or user-defined mail groups,
review the status of both sent messages and received messages,
automatically notify at log-on that new mail exists,
automatically notify selected users about various receiving activities, for example when a special-order item is received into inventory or a back order is filled, and
purge messages you no longer need.
Only valid STORIS Messenger users can access the Messenger and its
features. To validate a user for STORIS Messenger, enable the Mail User
Flag on the General tab in the User
file.
You also activate the Automatic Faxing via the STORIS Messenger. Use this
feature to automatically fax documents to vendors, for example purchase
order documents.
Use the following routines to set up STORIS Messenger:
STORIS Messenger Control Settings - set up your Messenger parameters.
Messenger Group Settings - create mail groups.
Create a User - grant Messenger access to individual users via the STORIS Messenger Settings on the General tab.
Warehouse/Store Location Settings - notify a selected user when certain inventory (for example, a special-order product ) is received into a selected location. Use the STORIS Mail ID field on the Advanced tab of the Warehouse/Store Location Settings. This field works in conjunction with the fields on the Messaging tab in the STORIS Messenger Control Settings.
Send/Review Mail Messages - create messages and view inbound, outbound, and deleted messages for the log-on user.
Message Review Screen - view and/or delete messages.
Reply or Forward Mail Messages - reply to or forward selected messages.
Purge Messenger Activity - purge "closed" messages (that is, purge messages that have been deleted via the Message Review Screen). Deleted messages display on the Closed tab of the Send/Review Mail Messages routine. The Purge Messenger Activity routine deletes all "closed" messages.
Mail administrators can access mail for all mail-eligible users. Use the Mail Administrator field in the User file to designate one or more users as mail administrators.
Use the fields on the General tab of the STORIS Messenger Control Settings to set up Automatic Faxing. You can then use the View Fax Status routine to monitor your faxes.
