Report Sales Tax

This report lists, for completed orders, the total tax liability by jurisdiction for a specified range of dates. Note that if you are using the Alternate Tax Interface, you need to run the Report Sales Tax Exceptions routine to report sales tax exceptions.

Runtime options allow for the entry of a range of dates to report on, selection of locations, and an option to print a summary page only. Also, the report can include one, several, or all tax jurisdictions. Within each jurisdiction, orders and returns sort by completion date. The summary page displays a summary of each jurisdiction and the total sales, taxable sales (sales amount subject to tax), and tax collected.

If Multi-Company Processing is active, you can specify the company to report. If you click on the search button, a list of companies appears from which you can select a company number. If you leave the field blank, you select all companies.

If Multi-Company Processing is not active, the company defaults and you cannot edit this field.

You can specify one or more locations to filter the report data by warehouse location, or you can leave the field blank to report on all locations. If you click the arrow button, you can choose a location from the list that appears. If you click the Action button, you access the Multiple Locations Selection Window, from which you can choose one or more locations. When you select one or more locations at this prompt, the report sorts, groups, and totals by location.

At this and any other Location field, the locations you see (that is, the list of locations available to you) may be affected by Regional Processing restrictions.

If you select one or multiple locations, and not All locations, the Start Date cannot be earlier than the current date minus the Sales Tax Retention Days or Customer Retention Months established in your Point of Sale Control Settings.

Check this box to limit the output record to only charge-off adjustments. This setting is only available if Tax Adjustments for Charge Offs in the General tab of Accounts Receivable Control Settings is set.

To generate a report of totals only, by jurisdiction, and a General Ledger summary page, check the box at this field. If you leave the box blank, the report prints order numbers and completion dates, as well as totals by jurisdiction and a General Ledger summary page.

Unlike most reports in STORIS, you can export the summary version of this report to an Excel® spreadsheet.
