Freight-Forwarder Settings

• Merchandising and Distribution > Settings > Purchasing Settings > Import Freight Settings > Freight Forwarder Settings

Enter the code of the freight forwarder you want to edit. If you click on the Search button, a list of freight forwarders appears from which you can choose. To create a new freight forwarder record, enter a code of up to 10 alphanumeric characters.

Use this field if you are transmitting purchase order information via EDI to freight vendors. Indicate the EDI eligible vendor that is responsible for freight and to whom the purchase order information is to be transmitted via EDI. When transmitting EDI purchase orders, the system determines the freight vendor to whom the PO information is to be sent by checking the following settings, in this order:

• Vendor Ship-From Settings, Import Information tab, FOB Code field

• FOB Settings, Freight Forwarder field

• Freight Forwarder Settings, Freight Vendor field

Enter or edit the description of the freight-forwarder specified at the above field. You can enter up to 30 alphanumeric characters.

Enter the type of freight forwarder. You have the following options:

• Ship

• Air

Enter a unique code to identify this contact. Once you create this code you cannot change it.

Enter or edit the name of the country in which the contact resides. The country you enter must exist in the Country file. If you click on the Search button, a list containing the contents of the Country file appears, from which you can make a selection.

Enter the name of the contact.

The dial prefix (if any) specified in the Country file for the selected country appears. It represents the international dialing prefix required when calling the specified country.

Enter the contact’s phone number.

Enter the contact's phone extension (if any), up to 5 characters long.

Enter contact’s fax number.

Enter the contact’s email address.

The grid displays all existing contacts for the selected freight-forwarder. To view or edit a contact, double-click on the line in the grid. To save any changes, click on Add. To delete the selected contact, click on Remove. To exit the contact without saving changes, click on Clear.
