Use markdown pricing for clearance-type products. In order entry, if the program finds a markdown price for an order item, the program uses the markdown price unless the default price is lower, in which case it uses the default price.
To establish markdown prices for selected products, use any of the following routines:
Advanced Product Settings (Pricing tab)
District and Regional Product Settings (District Settings tab)
Single Product Review Screen (Product tab)
The Markdown Price field in the above routines is active only if the purchase status for the product is set to one of the following:
M - Markdown
D - Dropped
T - Discontinued
Each time you edit the Markdown Price field, the system records the date and displays it on the screen next to the markdown price.
To establish a markdown price for a product, you must enter an amount
at the Markdown Price field in one of the above routines. That is,
simply assigning a purchase status
of Markdown to a product does not establish a markdown price.
You can generate a "markdown list"
of products whose purchase status has been changed to Markdown via the
Process
Merchandising Decisions feature. You can then print floor tags
based on the list. For more information, see the Purchase Status
field in either the Single
Product Review Screen or the Advanced
Product Settings.
