Messenger Group Settings

(Group Maintenance)

Access

You can send STORIS Messenger mail to groups of users. Use this routine to set up and maintain messenger mail groups. For each mail group you create, you can specify the users and/or mail groups who

• receive messages sent to the group, and can

• send messages to the mail group.

 Messenger groups accept only valid STORIS Messenger users as members.

Group IDEnter the ID of the messenger group you want to create or edit. If you click on the Search button, a list of existing groups appears from which you can choose.

DescriptionEnter a text description of the selected group.

OwnerEnter the ID of the user you want to designate as the "owner" of the selected messenger group.  Owners have full access to use and modify the group. If you click on the Search button, a list of users appears from which you can choose.

Type

Group UsersSpecify the users and/or messenger groups you want to allow to send messages to this messenger group. If you click on the Action button, the Mail Multi User/Group Selection Window appears from which you can select one or more users and/or messenger groups.

To specify a single user or messenger group, enter the code directly.  To select all users and groups, enter A.  If you selected multiple items on the Mail Multi User/Group Selection Window, the current field displays "...".

Group ListSpecify the users you want you to receive messages sent to this group.  If you click on the Action button, the Mail Multi User/Group Selection Window appears from which you can select one or more mail-eligible users. If you enter A, you select all users. Users are mail-eligible if a check appears at the Mail User Flag field on the General tab in the User file for the selected user.
