GL Group Settings

Use this process to define the lowest level of GL account classifications used for reporting and inquiry.

 To define the highest level of GL account classifications, use the GL Class Settings routine . To define the second highest level of GL account classifications, use the GL Sub-Class Settings routine.

GroupEnter the code of the GL account group you want to enter or edit. For new groups, you can enter up to 4 alphanumeric characters. If you click on the Search button, a list of groups appears from which you can make a selection.

DescriptionEnter a description of the GL account group you are creating. If you are viewing an existing group, you can edit the existing the description.

Sub-ClassSpecify the GL account sub-class (if any) with which you want associate this account group.  If you click on the Search button, a list of sub-classes appears from which you can make a selection.

The following are examples of GL groups you can create:

• Cash

• Inventory

• Accounts Receivable
