GL Class Settings

Use this process to define the highest level in your GL account hierarchy.  The system uses GL classes for reporting and inquiry. This routine determines the method of posting associated GL accounts.  

Once you apply a class to an account, you can not change it on existing records unless no GL account records are assigned the GL Account Class.  You can delete GL Account Class records as long as no GL Account Sub-Class records are linked and no GL account records are assigned the GL Account Class.  

 To define the second highest level of GL account classifications, use the GL Sub-Class Settings routine. To define the lowest level of GL account classifications, use the GL Group Settings routine.

ClassEnter the code of the GL account class you want to enter or edit. For new classes, you can enter up to 4 alphanumeric characters. If you click on the Search button, a list of classes appears from which you can make a selection.

DescriptionEnter a description for the GL account class you are creating. If you are viewing an existing class, you can edit the existing the description.
