Maintain Via Locations

Use this routine with multi-legged transfers to specify the locations that the merchandise must transfer to before reaching the final destination (To) location. For each From/To combination, you can specify multiple "via locations" and, optionally, the route code associated with each one. Via Locations you enter must be listed in the grid in the order that merchandise is to be transferred to those locations.

Enter the "via" location that merchandise is to be transferred to, during the multi-legged transfer, before reaching either the next "via" location or the final destination. Click the Search button to select a location from the Read-Only Lookup Window.

Multiple via locations can be added to the grid, one at a time, and should be entered in the order that merchandise is to travel. Each "leg" of the transfer is added to the grid when you click the plus/add button. At least one Via Location must be indicated in order to save the list on the Distribution Location Schema window.

You can use this optional field to specify a default route code to be used by the transfer process when creating each leg of the multi-legged transfer. Click the Search button to select a route code from the Read-Only Lookup Window.

The system determines the route by checking for the existence of a transfer route code in the following order: Warehouse/Store Location Settings, this screen (Maintain Via Locations), then the Stock Location Schema, and finally the standard default route code based on the location to which the merchandise is being shipped.

The grid displays the Via location, Description, Route (if any), and Remove button. Use the Remove button to delete a line from the grid. Via Locations you enter must be listed in the grid in the order that merchandise is to be transferred to those locations. Use the promote/demote buttons to change the order of the lines in the grid.
