STORIS allows for remote order completion. eSTORIS contains an interface you can use to transmit completed sales orders to eSTORIS via a hand-held device, for example orders from delivery truck drivers. eSTORIS then uploads the data to STORIS. In this way, drivers can complete orders remotely at the time of delivery rather than manually when they return from their route. STORIS validates the data to ensure proper completion and creates an audit log listing the data passed in from eSTORIS.
The Remote Order Completion process attempts to verify all orders passed in from the hand-held device. If the validation for an order
fails, you must
- process the order manually using the standard Manifest Completion process or
- remove the order from the manifest and complete it manually.
completes, the system
- removes the order from the manifest and
- flags as undelivered all delivery lines not passed into the process as complete (thus ensuring the system processes only lines passed in as complete).
To use this feature, you must first develop a method to transmit
data from hand-held devices to eSTORIS. For more information, contact
your STORIS representative.
This feature supports delivery and return order types but not exchanges
or service orders.
At this time, the passage of signatures is not supported by this feature.
This process does not handle payment of completed orders.
The following have been added to STORIS to support this feature:
Report Orders Completed via a Remote Process - lists completed order data passed in from eSTORIS as well as whether the order completion process finished. It also lists orders not delivered and still on the manifest.
Number of Days to Retain Remote Order Data field (Web Control Settings) – contains the numbers of days remote order data remains in the system before purging.
