Select a Fulfillment Date

Use this routine to choose a delivery/pickup date for orders and exchanges. The screen displays the current delivery date, earliest available date, and check boxes that you use to indicate which days of the week the customer prefers for delivery/pickup. You can select the delivery/pickup date from a calendar that displays suggested dates based on route capacities and merchandise availability.

You can use this screen to schedule orders and exchanges containing deliveries, pickups, or both. The delivery/pickup status must be Estimated or Scheduled in order to use this screen.

This field indicates the type of line items (delivery or pickup) on the order/exchange for which you are selecting a fulfillment date. If all lines on the order are the same type, Delivery or Pickup is automatically selected and you cannot edit the field. If both types of lines exist on the order, this field is active. Click the Arrow button to select from the following options:

Delivery - Select this option to choose a date for the delivery lines only.
Pickup - Select this option to choose a date for the pickup lines only.
Delivery/Pickup - Select this option if you are scheduling all lines for the same date.

Customer Prefers

Use this section to specify the days of the week the customer prefers for delivery/pickup of merchandise and to select the delivery/pickup date.

To select all days of the week, click the All Days check box. You can check and un-check individual boxes to indicate which days of the week the customer accepts deliveries or is available to pick up merchandise. Initially, all check boxes are selected, indicating that all days of the week are acceptable for deliveries/pickups.

Use this field to indicate the delivery/pickup date. If no date has been selected yet, multiple delivery dates exist, or different pickup and delivery dates exist for this order/exchange, this field appears blank.

Click the calendar icon to select a delivery/pickup date. The calendar indicates which dates are available or unavailable. In order for a date to be available for selection, it must meet all of the following criteria:

The date must not be in the past.

The day of the week associated with the date must be checked in the Customer Prefers section.

If working with line types of Delivery or Delivery / Pickup, the order’s route must be open and have available capacity for that date.
If the Restrict Based on Available Date setting in your Point of Sale Control Settings is active, all lines of the selected type(s) must have inventory availability on that date.

This display-only field indicates the earliest date this order can be fulfilled, based on the parameters you selected. The first date on the calendar (see Current Date field) that is not crossed out is displayed here, along with the day of the week.

The scheduled time of delivery (if any) appears. The system first checks the Delivery Scheduling screen for a scheduled time of delivery. If a scheduled time does not appear there, the system checks the Zip Code file. If a scheduled time does not appear there, this field is blank.
