The following is an example of how you can use the Staff GL Limited Access Detail Screen to apply security restrictions to selected GL accounts and/or account elements.
Specify root account inquiry privileges for the following accounts:
1000, 1100
1200
1300
In our example, we attempt to allow a specified user to inquire on any root account from 1000 to 1100 and also on root accounts 1200 and 1300. By further limiting the sub-account to the following:
10AA
20AA
Only the allowed root accounts in combination with sub-accounts 10AA or 20AA will appear on inquiries. Finally, you can define one or more cost centers, for example:
01, 09
This further limits the allowable combinations of root account and sub-account to cost centers 01 through 09.
The accounts and account ranges you specify appear in the grid. For individual accounts, the Description column displays the description from the GL Account record. For account ranges, the system displays “From 9999 to 9999”.
