To begin Step 2 (installation of the updates), click the Run button at the bottom of the STORIS Update Processor screen. These instructions assume the user is running the Automatic Updates process.
After you select the Run button, a screen appears displaying all users logged onto the system. The screen prompts you to begin sending those users still logged on messages asking them to log off. More detail follows below in the Automatic Updates Notification Screen section.
Following selection of the Run button, the following message displays if updates to the STORIS Software Updates program itself have been installed. "Updates have been partially installed. To complete the installation process, you will need to run this process again." Click the OK button in this window. Select the STORIS Software Updates option again from the menu and then click the Run button to install the remaining updates.
Several progress windows display the percent complete during installation.
Occasionally, there are data manipulation processes associated with the updates being installed. These processes run automatically and do not require user input. You may see a "blue screen" showing these updates, and then the process returns to the normal installation screen.
If no other users were on the system during Step 2, the message "Process completed successfully." displays when the installation is complete.
If other users were logged on during Step 2, the following message displays when the update installation process is complete. "Process completed successfully. In order for the installed software updates to take effect, ALL current users MUST log off and log back in before attempting to run any STORIS process!"
