Check and Electronically Install STORIS Updates

(STORIS Software Updates/AWBUD Process)

Access

Use this process to

• Step 1 - manually download STORIS updates, and

• Step 2 - install them to your STORIS accounts.

We recommend you restrict access to this process to system administrators.

• You must run this process on a PC with Internet access.

• You must run this process from your LIVE account.

• The process updates all eligible accounts at once. An account is eligible if it is at the same update level as the LIVE account.

 To schedule automatic updates (daily or monthly), use the Schedule Electronic Updates routine.

Process Available Updates

When you select this option from the menu, the STORIS Update Processor screen displays, provided updates are available. If so, the following message displays:

This is a two-step process. Step one downloads the updates. Step two installs the updates. Other than you, as the system administrator, there MUST be NO OTHER active users during the installation step (two).

If no new updates are available, the system displays the message

Your STORIS Software is current; there are no new updates to download.

Step 1 - Download Available Updates from the Web

You can run Step 1 at any time - even with active users on the system.  Unless you specify otherwise, the program includes all available updates in the process.  If you click on the Actions button and select the Set Maximum Update option, you can restrict the list to a specific update (if available) and all available updates previous to the specified update.

Download UpdatesTo download updates, check the box. This field defaults to checked status.  

Update CountThis field displays the number of updates currently available for download. During Step 2, you can view a list of updates available for download.

Compressed Bytes(KB)This field displays the amount of disk space required by the current update count to download successfully.

To begin the download process, click the Run button at the bottom of the screen. A "Loading Updates" progress window displays a running total of the percent completed during the download process. When complete, a window displays "Process completed successfully." Proceed to Step 2 to install the updates.  Note that once you run Step 1, the Download fields de-activate. To specify a different update count, click on the Actions button and select Clear Loaded Updates.

Step 2 - Install the Updates

Before you can run Step 2 to install the updates, all other users must log off the system. The user running the update receives a message displaying the users still logged on, and those users still logged on receive a message to log off.

Update CountThe number of updates ready for installation displays.

 Total Bytes(KB)The total amount of disk space required to install the current updates displays.

Install Updates To Account GridThe grid lists all accounts eligible for update, and excludes accounts that are not at the same update level as the LIVE account.
