Option Configuration
Access
After you create your option types for use with the Product Configurator, use the Option file to create the options you associate with option types. For example, if you create an option type called Pillow, you can then create options like white pillow, yellow pillow, large pillow, small pillow, etc. The system uses the option codes you create here on the Configurator screen.
VendorEnter the code of the vendor who supplies you with the product represented by this option. To select from a list of valid vendor codes, click the Search button to the right of the entry field.
Option KeyEnter the code for this option. You can enter up to fifteen alphanumeric characters. To access a list of previously created options for this vendor, click on the Search button to the right of the entry field.
Option DescriptionEnter a text description for this option. This description displays on the Special Order Configurator screen during order entry.
Option TypesEnter the option types to which you want to associate the selected option. To select a single option type, enter the code in this field. To select multiple groups, click the Action button to the right of the field and use the Multiple Option Type Selection screen.
Options ListAfter you create the initial Option record, the system leaves this field blank. Following List File maintenance (see the List section later in this document), you can use this field to indicate lists of options available for this option type.
GradeUse this 10 character field to group like-quality options that share the same base price when this option is entered as a primary option. Enter the grade code to associate with this option. If any of the option types specified for this option have the Graded field checked in Option Type Configuration, entry in this "grade" field is mandatory. Otherwise, entry is optional.

Activate Sub-OptionsIf you check the box at this field, the sub-option entry window appears (during special order configurator entry) when you specify this option for an option type containing sub-options. If you leave this field blank, the sub-option entry window does not display. The default for this field is unchecked.
GroupTo indicate the option group to which this option belongs, select Other or Fabric.
