Use the Fabric Configuration routine to create a record for each fabric available from vendors you use with the Product Configurator. First specify the fabric name, add a description that references the source of the fabric (for example, the fabric's name as given by the vendor). Then you associate the fabric with one or more fabric groups via the Groups field. You also use this routine to apply a grade to the fabric.
VendorEnter the code of the vendor who supplies you with this fabric. To select from a list of valid vendor codes, click the Search button to the right of the entry field.
FabricEnter a numeric, alpha, or alphanumeric code, of up to 15 characters, to identify this fabric. If you click the Search button to the right of the entry field, you access a list of previously created fabrics for this vendor.
Use this optional field to assign a suite to this fabric for the selected vendor. Enter the suite code or click the Search button to access the Read-Only Lookup Window.
Description / Color Enter a text description and/or color for this fabric. The description you enter should identify the source (if any) of this fabric, for example the vendor's name for this fabric.
GroupsSpecify the Fabric Group or Groups to which this fabric belongs. To select a single group for this fabric, enter the code in this field or click the Search button to the right of the field and select from a list of valid Fabric Group codes. To select multiple groups, click the Action button to the right of the field and use the Multiple Fabric Groups Selection screen.
GradeEnter the code for the grade you want to apply to this fabric. To select from a list of valid Grade codes as established in the Grade Description file, click the Search button to the right of the entry field.
Waste FactorIf you enter a percentage in this optional field, the system uses it to calculate the extra material required to allow for waste due to alignment of patterns, etc. The entry can have 3 decimals and must be less than 100. Each fabric can have a different waste factor.
AvailableTo indicate the fabric is currently available, check the box. To indicate that the fabric has been discontinued and is no longer available from this vendor, leave the box blank.
You can use this optional message box to enter text describing any additional information for this fabric. The text you enter here also appears in the Additional Information field on the Special Order Configurator screen when you select this fabric as the Primary Option.
For example, this field can be used to convey availability information specific to this fabric. ("Not in stock – requires 6 week lead time" or "100 yards available as of 5/12/10", etc..) If you click the Action button to the right of the message box, you access the Description Field - Language Translation Entry window.
