Using the indicated matrix settings shown in the table below, the following is an example of how STORIS calculates commissions on an order.
Assume a customer purchases a sofa, a television, and an entertainment center.
The customer record has a Customer Commission Category setting of "A".
The sofa has a Product Commission Category setting of "1".
The television has a Product Commission Category setting of "2".
The entertainment center has a Product Commission Category of "3".
The system cross-references these line items against their respective Commission Matrix files (A*1, A*2, A*3).
On this order, the sofa has a commission of 5%, the television has a commission of 3%, and the entertainment center has a commission of 6%.
Based on the matrix settings, the system finds the Commission Percent for A*1 in the Advanced Product Settings, the Commission Percentage for A*2 directly in the Commission Settings file, and the Commission Rate (percent) for A*3 in the Salesperson Settings file.
