Bar Code Control Settings

Use this field to enter the number of days after which to purge Consolidated Picking Maintenance items. The purge occurs during the Generate Daily Reports process. This field accepts values between 1 and 999.

Enter the name of the label program for the warehouse float label. The standard STORIS float label program is BC.FLOAT.LBL.  

If you check this box, RF users are allowed to receive more product than scheduled. The scanned label increases the receipt quantity of the purchase order line to greater than the sum of the schedule quantity assigned to all batches that reference the purchase order line. If you leave the box blank, over receiving is not allowed.

This setting refers to RF users. To control over-receiving for non-RF users, use the Allow to Over Receive Merchandise setting in Create a User/Group Actions - Logistics Security.

Click the Arrow button to specify the method by which to pick customer pickup (CPU) orders. You have  the following options:

• Single (Single User) - allow only one user to pick a single order.

• Multiple (Multiple Users) - allow multiple users to pick merchandise for the same CPU order.

Important If picking ranges are in use and you set this field to Single User, single users may not be able to completely pick an order.

Use these fields to indicate the number of days from the delivery/transfer/receipt/pickup order's scheduled date that the picking can be scheduled. The Create an AWM Schedule and Create a Default AWM Schedule screens offer selections based on these fields for the scheduling of delivery picks, CPU picks, transfer picks and warehouse receipts. If you set these fields to zero, only selections for the current date are offered. If set to 1, selections for both today and tomorrow are offered. You can enter a number from 0-9.

Use this field to indicate the number of days you want warehouse management schedule data to be retained on the system before purging. STORIS recommends setting this field in the 30 to 60 day range, to facilitate faster performance on the RF terminals and in the scheduling functions.

Initially this field is set to 30 days. Use this setting to indicate the number of days (1-999) to retain putaway exceptions before being purged during End of Day (Generate Daily Reports). If you use the Directed Putaway feature, this setting is mandatory.

If you check this box and serial tracking is active on the system and for the product, the system prompts for specific piece numbers during picking. When this box is checked, pickers must pick the exact piece as it is assigned on the order. If you leave this check box blank, any piece of the same product can be picked and the order is updated.

If you check the box at this field, customer pickup orders are picked by order number. If you leave this box blank, pickers are prompted for the start location and they begin picking the first order found in that location.

To pick delivery orders by their assigned route/truck code, check the box at this field.  To pick by aisle (general picking), leave the box blank.

If you leave this field blank, you must choose the start location and the first order found for that location is the order you pick. When you pick by aisle, you must first scan the location at which to start picking.  Picking then starts with the first piece in the aisle.  The process recognizes the route associated with that piece and picks that route from then on. However, if AWM is active and the user has multiple routes on their schedule, the process picks all items for all the routes on that picker's schedule.

To place exchange pickups first in the picking order, check the box at this field.  To place pickup exchanges on a FIFO First in, first out. basis, leave the field blank.

If you check the box at this field, the processes that initially add transactions to RF picking place pickup exchanges ahead of other transactions in the pick list. In this way, if the piece a customer picks up is damaged, the exchange generated by the service department places the exchange at the top of the list so the customer does not have to wait for their order to work its way through the system before receiving a replacement product.

This option is available for both the standard RF picking and AWM scheduled picking processes.

To pick merchandise transfers by destination (final) route, check this box. The "RF PICKING - Merchandise Transfers by Route" check box must be enabled in order to check the box at this setting. If you check this box, an additional prompt appears at which pickers either specify a single destination route or select all "transfer-to routes". Pickers are then directed to pick pieces destined to locations on the selected final routes.

To pick merchandise transfers by route, check this box. If you leave this box blank, pickers choose the start location and start picking the first transfer found in that location.

This box must be checked in order to enable the RF PICKING - Merchandise Transfers by Final Route setting. If you check this box only, and not the "...Transfers by Final Route" setting, pickers are prompted to enter the Truck/Route and are directed to pick transfer pieces originating from locations on that route.

If you check the box at both of these settings, an additional prompt appears at which pickers either specify a single destination route or select all "transfer-to routes". Pickers are then directed to pick pieces destined to locations on the selected final routes.

Use this field to specify your preference for printing product images on Forms Designer product labels (for example, hang-tag labels). You have the following options:

• No Product Images - do not include product images on label forms.

• Use Thumbnail - include thumbnail-size product images on label forms.

• Use Standard Size Image - include standard-size product images on label forms.

• Use Large Image - include large-size product images on label forms.

To include product images in one or more labels, you must

• activate the feature by selecting an image size at this field,

• format one or more label forms to print product images.  In the Forms Designer, use the Tools tab to drag the StorisPictureBox control onto your label, and then use the Form Data tab to drag the product_image tag into the picture box. You must also

• attach images to selected products using the Image Wizard.

Once you set up your system this way, then when printing labels (for example via the Print an Inventory Floor Tag routine), if you select a label type formatted to include a product image, a product image prints for all products to which an image has been attached via the Image Wizard.

Including product images in your labels can significantly increase the download time for a label batch.  

Specify the product label type you want to default into the Label Type field in the Advanced Product Settings when creating new products.  You have the following options:

• Standard - (6.1 x 3.25)

• Accessory - (1.5 x 3.25)

This field affects only labels you print to a zebra printer.
