Replenish Stock Inventory Based on Sales Rate
(Automatic PO Replenishment)
Access
This routine normally runs during End-of-Day processing. However, you can also run this routine manually to generate automatic replenishment purchase orders on demand.
If purchase lead days have been specified for the selected vendor anywhere in the system, this routine references the lead days when making calculations for PO replenishment.
This program creates the Automatic Purchase Order Replenishment Report showing the detailed calculations for each item selected. Note that when making replenishment calculations, the system includes purchase orders on Hold.
If Regional Processing is active on your system, read the Report Exceptions portion of Regional Processing - Reporting Rules for details on how Regional Processing affects this routine.
Warehouse Location
VendorEntry in this field is mandatory. Enter the code of a specific vendor for whom automatic purchase orders are to be created. The vendor entered here must exist in the (Vendor) file and must also be set up in the Advanced Vendor Settings (Vendor Subsidiary) file as allowing this process.
ProductEnter the codes of the products for which you want to create purchase orders. If you leave this field blank, the system selects all products. If you click on the Actions button, you access the Multiple Product Selection screen, from which you can select one or more products.
GroupA specific product group may be selected, or the field may be left blank to select All Groups.
CategoryA specific product category may be selected, or the field may be left blank to select All Categories.
CollectionA specific product collection may be selected, or the field may be left blank to select All Collections.
Vendor ModelA specific vendor model number may be entered in this field or the field may be left blank to select all vendor model numbers for the vendor selected. When specifying products, either the product ID or the vendor model number should be used, but not both.
Buying GroupA specific buying group may be selected, or the field may be left blank to select All buying groups.
When you create a purchase order from Purchase Order Replenishment, if the Buying Group feature is active (via the Activate Buying Group field in the Purchasing Control Settings), the system does not specify a buyer. You must re-access the purchase order later to specify a buyer. Otherwise, the system keeps the purchase order on hold.
Vendor Ship-FromA specific vendor ship-from address may be selected, or the field may be left blank to select All vendor ship-from addresses. To activate this field, you must select a vendor at the Vendor field.
Variance PercentThis field is used in a similar manner as the same field in the Buyer's Management Worksheet report. The field allows entry of a factor that will be used when calculating the sales rate. If the operator feels that future sales will be either increased or decreased from the available history, a percentage can be entered here. An entry from 0 to 999 may be entered. If the field is left blank, the program will calculate the sales rate based on the available sales history. For example, if the operator wants to project sales figures with the sales rate cut in half, 50 would be entered. If the operator wants to project sales figures at double the historic sales rate, 200 would be entered.
Sort CriteriaThis field determines how products will be sorted on the report output. Select Product, Group, Category, or Vendor Model.
Include OverstocksSelect this field to include all products that meet the selected criteria regardless of whether the calculated quantity to order field is positive or negative. This allows the operator to quickly review items that may be overstocked. If this option is not selected, only products that have a calculated quantity to order amount greater than zero are selected.
Even if you include overstocks, when you create the purchase order, the system adds only items with a quantity-to-order amount greater than zero to the purchase order.
Include Service Items To include items with a service status of two or more in this PO replenishment order, check the box. Otherwise, leave the box blank.
Send Output toThe output destination of the report displays. To change the output destination, click on the Actions button and select Output Settings.
Export PathIf you select either the Personal Report Viewer ( PRV), Excel Export, or ASCII Export, this field displays the pre-set computer drive and folder location to which the system exports the report data. You cannot edit the export path using this process.

Once you complete the fields on this screen, select Run to build a list of products that meet the selected criteria. The same type of processing that occurs during the End-of-Day replenishment process occurs when run on-demand. The Items for Replenishment screen displays.
