Access

Use this program to generate gift certificates based on accumulated customer reward points for selected customers.  To generate gift certificates in exchange for customer payments, use the Enter a Customer Payment/Refund/Gift Certificate routine.

 You cannot add funds to, or refund amounts from, gift certificates created as part of the Customer Rewards program.  The system automatically assigns these gift certificates a payment type code of GCRWD. This code is internal and does not appear in the Gift Certificate Payment Type Settings.

Customer CodeEnter the customer number for whom you want to generate a gift card or apply customer reward points. If you click on the Search button, you access the Search for a Customer (Customer Code Lookup) screen, from which you can select a customer code. Once you enter the customer number, the name and address display.

To access a specific customer, the check box must be empty at the Do Not Accumulate Reward Points field on the Advanced tab in the Customer Settings. Also, the customers you can access at this and other Customer fields may be restricted by Regional Processing.

Number of Reward Points EarnedThe total number of points earned by the selected customer appears. The system calculates reward points based on settings in the Customer Rewards Control Settings, and in individual Product records.

Maximum Gift Certificate AllowedOf the total points earned, this is the maximum amount that can actually be applied to a gift certificate. This amount is determined by the percentage entered in the Percent for Gift Certificate Calculation field in the Customer Rewards Control Settings (Customer Rewards ACF).

Reward Points UsedThe calculated number of points to be applied to a gift certificate via the current session displays. After you enter an amount in the Gift Certificate Amount field, the program references your reward points parameters, calculates the reward points, and displays the result here.  

Reward Points RemainingInitially, this field displays the total number of reward points remaining for the selected customer (not including entries from the current session). After you enter an amount at the Gift Certificate Amount field, this field displays the total number of points that will remain for the customer after you complete the session.  

 Gift Certificate AmountEnter the amount of the gift certificate being purchased. You cannot enter an amount exceeding the amount shown in the Maximum Gift Certificate Allowed field.
