Receive a Purchase Order using a POS Scanner

This process, which emulates the RF Bar Code Radio Frequency (RF) Bar Code - an inventory bar code scanning process in which you scan labels using an RF scanning device and update STORIS in real time without having to return to a port or station. STORIS also provides other scanning processes called batch bar code and store bar code. Gun screen, is used with a tethered POS scanning (point-of-sale scanning) a method of bar code scanning in which you scan floor tags to add merchandise to sales orders. You can also use POS scanners to receive merchandise from purchase orders. device to receive products into inventory. The program displays a character-based entry window that looks similar to the display on the RF Gun. Inventory receiving that is completed using this window is updated in "real time" as labels are scanned. When you exit the program, the display returns to the STORIS menu screen.  

Important: Prior to using this process, run the Assign Purchase Orders to a Bar Code Receiving Batch (Warehouse Receipts Scanner Load) process to set up the batches.

This routine may be affected by Regional Processing restrictions. That is, you may not have access to all customers and locations.

Before selecting the RF Emulation process from the menu, make sure that you are logged in to the location that will be receiving the products.

Once the process is selected from the menu, a screen similar to the following displays. To exit this screen, enter "E" at the Location prompt.

LocationEnter the code of the location into which the products will be received. This must be a valid storage location for the log-in location.

Label IDScan the product label or enter the bar code number from the label. Note that STORIS does not accept spaces in serial numbers. If you scan a bar code number with spaces, STORIS removes the spaces.

QuantityIf receiving bulk products, the program will prompt for the quantity. A quantity may be entered here, or each label may be scanned separately.

PO #If more than one purchase order for the same product exists in the batch, the system may prompt for entry of the purchase order number being received.

To return to the previous field , enter 0 (zero) or E. To exit the screen and return to the STORIS menu, enter 0 (zero) or E at the Location field.
