The first digit of a STORIS bar code number is a prefix - either 9 or 7 - identifying the product as either saleable (9) or non-saleable (7). The next six digits contain the bar code cross reference number. Often, the bar code cross reference number contains "leading zeros". In this case, the two zeros following the nine are leading zeros.
