Validate STORIS License Usage

(Port Usage)

Access

Occasionally, users are unable to log in to the system because no available ports exist at the time. Use this function to check for ports no longer being used (that is, a user is not logged on but port is still not free) and clear them.

The program gathers data from the Terminal file, then checks to see if the user is still logged in to that port. If the user is not logged in, the terminal record is cleared from STORIS. Another user may then log on to the port.

When you select the Port Usage option from the menu, the system performs the checks and displays a message indicating that the ports have been validated.

When you click on the menu option for this routine, the program executes automatically. That is, you do not access a routine and make field selections from the screen. Therefore, you cannot access this Help topic from a routine screen but instead must access it from the Help file's Table of Contents.
