Translation Spreadsheet Samples
The following are examples of export .TXT for the
various STORIS domains after they have been converted to Excel® spreadsheets for translation.
The spreadsheet formats used by the Translation
Tool are similar for all translation domains. The first sample, for
the Screens domain, describes each column in detail. The remaining domain
samples describe only context-specific variations.

Depending
on your computer settings, your spreadsheets may not look exactly like
the examples below. For example, your Excel®
settings may cause blank rows to insert in between rows with text. These
extra rows do not harm the spreadsheet.
Each spreadsheet contains the record ID in the first column
of each data row. During the export process, the Translation Tool
inserts a tilde character (~) as a prefix to each record ID. This
combats issues caused by leading zeros in the record ID. Some of the spreadsheet
examples below do not include the tilde character (~) in the data rows
of the first column. For example, in the Screens domain spreadsheet
(see example below), "PGM.TEST.PGM" will display in your spreadsheet
as "~PGM.TEST.PGM". When importing translation spreadsheets
back into STORIS, the Translation Tool ignores the leading tilde (~) character
in the record key.

Domain Spreadsheet Sample
Typically, there is only a single Translation Type (for example, Description)
per data file, though there are some data files with more than one field
available for translation.
SourceLimited
to either None or Client (that is, it is either not possible to tell if
the Client or STORIS did a translation in a data file).
Dictionary
Domain Spreadsheet Sample
Type
SourceIf a translation is present, by convention “STORIS”
will be indicated if its Dict# is 2 and “Client” will be indicated if
its Dict# is 3 (that is, it is not strictly possible to tell if the Client
or STORIS did a translation in a dictionary file).
Dict#Dictionary Type: Type 2 dictionary items are
created and maintained by STORIS as being part of the base package. Type
3 dictionary items are created and maintained by your organization.

French This column
populates for DTS Tab Labels only. When populated, it contains the default
translated tab labels from the DTS Default Tabs Domain Spreadsheet (see
above). If the translation column (French) is left blank, then these defaults
(if any) are used for the Tab label in the given DTS Query. If a translation
is provided in the translation column (French), then this overrides the
default translation for the given DTS Query. (If both are left blank,
it defaults to English).
