Translate File Descriptions

Access

Use this routine to:

• export a STORIS source file A main repository of STORIS data, for example, the Customer file. to an Excel® spreadsheet to create an English-language version of the source file , or

• import a spreadsheet with a foreign-language version of the source file to overwrite the existing source file.

This routine translates the source file for data file descriptions to or from a selected foreign language.

File NameEnter the name of the file whose file descriptions you want to translate to another language. If you click on the Arrow, a pull-down menu appears from which you can choose a file name.

FieldEnter the name of the field you want to translate. Most files have only one field but a few such as Product have multiple descriptive fields associated with the file name. If you click on the Arrow, a pull-down menu appears from which you can choose a field.

Direction

DescriptionsTo access this field, you must select Export at the Direction field. Use this field to specify whether to export all descriptions or only un-translated descriptions.

Foreign LangEnter the code of the language to which you want to translate descriptions. If you click on the Arrow button, a list languages available to you appears.

Send Output toThis field indicates where the output of this report is to be sent. To select a different output option, use the Output Settings option from the Actions menu.      

Export PathThis field indicates the computer path (drive, folder, file name) to which the report output will be sent. To select a different path, use the Output Settings option from the Actions menu.
