Use this file to record the components for each warranty that your company sells. The information you enter is for reference only. Once you create component records, you can associate them with the Warranty Settings record that represents the warranty containing these components. For example, a warranty you sell with a heating system may contain several components, each covering a different portion of the system and each with different terms. The warranty may include 1 year coverage for the furnace/boiler/heat pump, 6 months on the duct work, etc.

Entry of warranty information in this file is optional and is for reference only. This does not affect the ability to link warranties with inventory products in Sales Order Entry.

Parts

Select the time period in which the warranty is measured. You have the following options:

Day
Month
Year

Select the condition in which this warranty becomes active. You have the following options:

Completed Order Date - select this if the extended or special warranty on the parts begins with the date of the invoice.
Factory Expires - select this if the extended or special warranty on the parts begins when the factory warranty expires.

Labor

Select the time period in which the warranty is measured. You have the following options:

Day
Month
Year

Select the condition in which this warranty becomes active. You have the following options:

Completed Order Date - select this if the extended or special warranty on the parts begins with the date of the invoice.
Factory Expires - select this if the extended or special warranty on the parts begins when the factory warranty expires.
