This file is used in Service Order entry to provide a quick explanation of the type of problem that lead to the Service Call. The Service Problem record includes a code of up to 5 characters, an associated sixteen character description field explaining what the code means, and optional questions that may be used during service order entry. The questions entered here may be used to assist the person entering the service order in asking pertinent questions and gathering the information needed to process the service order.
Problem CodeEnter a code of up to 5 characters to represent the problem that has caused the customer's merchandise to require servicing. Use the Search option available at this field to locate an existing problem code.
DescriptionThis is the text description of the problem code. Up to 20 characters may be entered to describe this problem code. For example, if the code is entered as MISPT, the description might read MISSING PART. This text will print on work orders, trip sheets, and the vendor charge-back report.
Question 1-4The four Question fields are optional and may be used to store questions that will display on the screen when this problem code is entered during creation of the service order. These questions are used as prompts to the operator entering the call, reminding them to obtain specific information from the customer regarding the problem.
