Use this routine to create brand names for your products.  The Brand field is a required field in the Product settings.  Many STORIS reports sort by brand name.  Also, if you do not want the vendor name or code to print (for example on floor tags), you can print the brand name instead.  

You can have the system create brands automatically via the Vendor Settings in two ways.  When creating a new vendor, if the

• On-the-Fly Performed simultaneously, in the midst of another routine. For example, creating a new product during sales entry rather than leaving the sales process to create the product in product settings. Maintenance field in the General System Control Settings is checked, then when you click on Save, the system asks if you want to create a new brand with the same code as the vendor.

• Class field on the Payables tab is set to INV, then when you click on Save, the system automatically creates a new brand and assigns it a code that matches the vendor code.  

Brand NameEnter the name of the brand you want create or edit.  Brand names can contain up to 20 characters.

DescriptionEnter or edit a description of the selected brand, for example the full name of the manufacturer.

Web DescriptionEnter or edit the description you want to display on eSTORIS A set of applications that allows you to bring your STORIS system onto the World Wide Web to create a "virtual store". for products associated with the selected brand.  This description displays in the bottom of the left-hand block on the Product Detail page.

You maintain this field here or on the Brand Maintenance page of eSTORIS.

Available on WebUse this field with the eSTORIS A set of applications that allows you to bring your STORIS system onto the World Wide Web to create a "virtual store". module.  To indicate that products associated with this brand are available on eSTORIS, check the box.  Otherwise, leave the field blank.   If you check the box at this field, this brand appears in the Brand selection list on the Product Search page of eSTORIS.

Show Web PriceUse this field with the eSTORIS A set of applications that allows you to bring your STORIS system onto the World Wide Web to create a "virtual store". module.  To display the product price on the web for products in the selected brand, check the box.  Otherwise, leave the field blank.  If you check the box at this field, then when an eSTORIS customer selects a product associated with this brand, and then views product details, the price of the product displays. Note that you cannot check out with items in your cart that do not have a price.

Retail Deck ManufacturerSpecify one or more RetailDeck manufacturers (if any) for the selected brand.  You can enter up to 50 characters for each.  If you click on the Search button, the Multiple Entry Window appears in which you can enter one or more codes. If the code you specify here exists in another Brand record, an error message appears.  You can specify another code, if desired.

The system references this field when importing product data from RetailDeck. If the brand you specify here exists in the RetailDeck product record, the system assigns this brand to the product it creates during auto product create process.   If the brand you specify here does not exist in the RetailDeck product record, the system assigns the default brand specified in the Retail Deck Control Settings.
