Sales Order Linkage Screen

Use this screen to link items from a purchase order to a line item of an existing sales order. The sales order you select must include a line item with the product you want to link to the sales order.

If linking an existing purchase order line to a special order line on a sales order, the system checks to see if the special order information matches. If it does not match, a warning message displays and you have the option of continuing with the linkage or not continuing. If you answer Yes to continue, the special order information from the sales order line is copied to the purchase order line. If the purchase order has already been printed, and the special order information does not match, a message displays stating that the purchase order has been printed and that the linkage is not allowed.

Quantity AvailableThe quantity available for linkage appears. This is the quantity ordered from the purchase order, minus the number of items (if any) already linked through this process.

OrderEnter the number of the sales order to which you want to link the items. The sales order you enter must include the product you are attempting to link. If you click on the Search button, you access the Search for a Sales Order by a Specific Product (Open Order by Product Inquiry), which you can use to aid your search.

Quantity LinkedOnce you specify a sales order at the Order field, the linked quantity for the selected product appears, minus any quantity already received for the product for the selected purchase order.  You can edit this amount.  You cannot link more than the quantity available.

CustomerThe customer associated with the selected sales order appears.

Open Sales QuantityThe quantity on the sales order available to be linked appears. You cannot link more items than the amount displayed here.

ProductThe code of the selected product appears.
