STORIS offers three accounting alternatives:
You must select one of the above accounting options before you begin processing in STORIS. Note that STORIS Accounting does not interface with QuickBooks. To use QuickBooks, you must select STORIS Intuit® (QuickBooks) Interface as your accounting option. The Third-Party Accounting field on the Active Add-Ons tab in the General System Control Settings indicates your accounting selection.
STORIS Accounting updates the general ledger based on transaction
date and not invoice date. For example, for transactions entered
in January but invoiced in December, the bills post to January. QuickBooks
updates the general ledger based on invoice date.
You can also choose to deactivate Accounting in STORIS. If so, then when
you fully receive a purchase order, the option appears to delete the purchase
order.
STORIS Accounting consists of two main modules:
- create AP bills including pending AP bills
- approve AP bills
- generate and print checks from AP bills
- reconcile checks
- view vendor bills and generate various reports
- create a chart of accounts - full GL account structure supported
- create period tables
- import journal entries
- create and/or import budgets
- full range of reports and inquiries available
If electronically converting your General Ledger data, see the Import Data topic for details on the process. Included in the topic is a link to download the latest GL Conversion Spreadsheet from the STORIS web site.
This accounting option consists of a version of the STORIS TPA Interface (see below) specifically designed to integrate STORIS data with the Intuit QuickBooks accounting package. You can generate AP bills in STORIS and transmit them to QuickBooks.
STORIS does not interface with
the on-line version of QuickBooks.
Very large AP bills do not post to QuickBooks due to system limitations.
As a work-around, you can delete the large bill and create multiple smaller
bills.
This accounting option includes an interface through which you can integrate STORIS data with an outside accounting package.
