The STORIS Main Menu screen includes a Quick Launch icon tool bar at the bottom of the screen. Use this feature to create easy access to the STORIS routines you most frequently use, by adding icons to the Quick Launch tool bar. The Quick Launch tool bar is user-specific. It displays your program icons each time you log on the system, regardless of the workstation.
Use your mouse to click and drag programs from the menu onto the Quick Launch tool bar at the bottom of the screen.
The menu item displays as an icon on the tool bar.
Access the program from Quick Launch by clicking on the icon.
An unlimited number of icons can be added to the tool bar. Use the scroll bar to access icons that do not fit on the screen.
Quick Launch provides access to any program that exists on the STORIS Menu. However, security restrictions apply. Users are restricted to the options available on their user-specific menus.
Quick Launch accepts only programs listed on the menus, and not menu/sub-menu titles, or history listings.
By default, an image is automatically assigned to the menu item when you add to your Quick Launch bar. You can select a different image using the following instructions.
To select another image, right-click on the image in your Quick Launch bar and select Change Image.
The Select a Quick Launch Image window displays the available images.
The default image for the menu item is highlighted.
Click on the image you want to replace the current image and then click Ok.
To display the program name for an icon on the tool bar, hover your mouse over the icon.
The icons can be arranged in any order. Click, drag, and drop the icon into its new position.
To delete a menu item from the Quick Launch bar, use one of the following methods.
Click and drag the icon off the tool bar and drop it into the waste basket to the left of the icons.
Right-click the icon and select Remove.
Before you log off, your Quick Launch list is saved on the server in your own "personal settings". These settings are applied on subsequent sessions in that account, even if you log in on a different workstation.
If you used the Change Image option to replace an image on your Quick Launch bar, this is saved with your settings as well. However, if you have multiple sessions in the same account open on your workstation, the settings for the last session you log off are used the next time you log in to that account. Therefore, the session where you replaced images should be the last session you close out if you want to retain those settings.
