Use this routine to import a tariff file into STORIS. First, you must download a list of tariffs onto your PC in the form of a .txt file . The following is a government web site you can use:
http://www.usitc.gov/
Next, use this routine to import one or more tariff codes into STORIS.
You can restrict the import to a range of tariffs within the import file. You can then view and edit the imported tariffs in the Tariff Settings and link the tariffs to products or vendors.
The tariff data appears in two slightly different formats, one to import a full list and for a partial list. The format of the full list appears below, including a delimiter in the form of the (|) ASCII character 124.
HTS No.|Stat Suffix||Level|Description|Unit of Quantity|Col. 1 Rate|Special Rate|Col. 2 Rate|Footnote / Comment
The update list is delimited by the same ASCII character but has an additional column at the beginning:
0|HTS No.|Stat Suffix|Level|Description|Unit of Quantity|Col. 1 Rate|Special Rate|Col. 2 Rate|Footnote / Comment
When
building and/or updating records in the Tariff File, the system uses the
‘Col. 1 Rate’ field as the tariff’s percentage.
The program defaults an effective date equaling the date on which you loaded
new data and/or changed data. You can override this default.
When the import process completes, if any records were added or updated,
a report displays listing the
affected records as well as a list of products associated with the affected
tariff codes.
