Use this routine to apply an extra layer of security to guard against credit card fraud via one or both of the following security features:
Address Verification Service (AVS) - attempts to verify the identity of the card-holder by comparing the billing address provided by the merchant with the address on file at the issuing bank.
Card Code Values - card code services verify the card code value you enter against the card code value on file with the issuing bank. STORIS supports the following card code values:
- CID (card identifier)
- CVV2 (card verification value 2)
- CVC2 (card verification code 2)
Not all credit card processors return address verification and/or card code information. STORIS supports the above services for credit card processing only through First Data Corporation's Nashville Platform®, and you must establish an agreement with First Data Corporation before you can utilize these services in STORIS. Once you do, STORIS sets up a credit card processing record called FDNASHVILLE for use in this routine. Note that FDNASHVILLE is the only credit card processing record you can use for AVS and Card Code processing.
If you activate the Nashville Platform on STORIS, you can use this routine to direct STORIS to decline approved credit card payments based on data mismatches found by the AVS and Card Code systems. That is, a credit card processor may approve a payment even if the address or card code information you provide on the card-holder does not match the information on file at the issuing bank. The fields in this routine allow you to direct STORIS to override such payment approvals and automatically decline the payment.
The fields in this routine affect both STORIS and eSTORIS transactions.
When STORIS declines a credit card authorization based on your settings in this routine, STORIS
transmits an authorization reversal to First Data Corporation indicating the approval just received has been overturned (in this way, First Data can remove the hold on the authorization amount after processing the information),
updates the Order Comments file with the card decline,
requires the customer to choose another form of payment to complete the order, and
prevents manual authorization of these declines.

Use these fields to set up your credit card processing system for Card Code Processing. Note that card code value entry is available only for manually entered account numbers and not for card-swipes.
