Delivery Charge Table Settings

Use this process to create, update and delete delivery charge tables. This process is only accessible through Delivery Company Settings and is not available through the menu.

Enter up to 10 characters (cannot contain spaces) to create a unique identifier for your delivery charge table.

When maintaining an existing delivery charge table, this field is inactive and cannot be changed.

Use this field to enter a description for your delivery charge table. This is a required field that accepts up to 30 characters. The associated action button accesses the Description Field - Language Translation Entry process.

Delivery Charge Table Settings

The Value Type and Range Unit of Measure are required fields that define the nature of the tiers in the delivery charge table.

This field indicates how the specified value should be interpreted. This field depends on the selection made in the Range Unit of Measure field. Select from the following options:

Percent of Dollars - This option is only valid when Range Unit of Measure is Dollars.
Per Weight Unit - This option is only valid when Range Unit of Measure is Weight.
Flat Charge - Valid when either Dollars or Weight are chosen from Range Unit of Measure.

Choose either Dollars or Weight to specify how the range values are interpreted.

Associate Table With Specific Inventory

This field associates the charge table with specific products, groups or categories. This field is optional. Use the search button to search for an existing inventory formation. The action button allows you to select the following:

Create New Inventory Formation - Opens a new window to create a new inventory formation to associate with this charge table.
Maintain Assigned Inventory Formations - Opens a new window to modify an existing formation.
Multiple Formations - Opens a new window to select multiple inventory formations to associate with this charge table.

If this box is checked, the charge table only applies to orders with all lines included in the specified inventory formations. If unchecked, the charge table applies to orders with any lines included in any of the specified inventory formations.

Delivery Charge Table

Use the Lower Range and Value fields to add a tier to the grid below. To maintain a tier, double-click the row to bring the information into the companion area in order to edit or delete it.

The information in the Delivery Charge Table grid is automatically sorted in descending order.

Enter a merchandise value or weight for this calculation range. When entering the first Lower Range item, you enter 0 (zero) and the corresponding value. Enter the next Lower Range (10 for example) to create a range from 0 to the number you enter (10 in this example). If you then enter 20, your table will then have three ranges: from zero to 10, from >10 to 20, and >20 (that is, any number greater than 20). Note that you must create a range using 0. In this way, you cover the area from 0 to the lowest range number in the grid delivery charge table.

Depending on your selection at the Value Type and Range of Unit Measure fields, enter either the flat charge amount, percent of value amount, or the per weight unit in this field.

The following two fields define the contents of the columns in the grid. Assume you choose to calculate by weight. You have the following options: 1) calculate by weight using a series of one more or flat charges you specify in the grid. For example, you can assess a flat delivery charge of $1 to deliver up to one pound of merchandise, $2 for two pounds of merchandise, and so on OR 2) calculate by weight using a series of one or more per-weight-unit charges to be multiplied by the number in the Lower Range field. For example, you can set up the table, for orders up to one pound (represented by the '1' in the Lower Range field), to multiply the total weight of the order by $1 (or by $2 for orders up to two pounds, and so on). The $1 amount is represented by a '1' in the Value field.

Click the Add button to add the delivery charge table to the grid.

Click the Clear button to clear the information in the Lower Range and Value fields. This action does not delete items already listed in the Delivery Charge Table grid.

To delete a line within the Delivery Charge Table grid, double-click the desired line in order to pull its contents back into the Lower Range and Value fields (the line is still present within the grid). Click the Remove button and the line information is removed from the grid as well as the Lower Range and Value fields.

This grid displays the selected Lower Range and Values. To edit this information, double-click the respective line and the information populates the Lower Range and Value fields where it can be edited.
