Open To Buy Budget by Category

If you set the Open To Buy Department Control field in the Purchasing Control Settings to Region/Buying Group, this screen appears when you double-click on a grid item on the Planning Table tab in the Open To Buy Department Settings (provided the selected open-to-buy (OTB) department contains both regions and buying groups). Use this screen to establish a budget by month for each category included in the grid.

This grid lists each category in the selected department and allows for the entry of planned sales and planned inventory by category for a selected month.  For new OTB departments, the system scans all products in that department and displays all categories associated with those products. However, only categories whose products have had inventory activity within the OTB region appear in the grid.

The percentages calculate as each category’s percent of the total budget for the indicated month.

CategorySelect the category for which you want to enter planned sales and/or inventory. You can click on the Arrow to display a list of categories, or you can double-click on an item in the grid.

Planned SalesEnter the planned sales dollars (in thousands) that you expect to sell for this category within the selected month.

Planned Inventory EOMEnter the planned end-of-month inventory cost dollars (in thousands) for each month for this category.

Month/YearThe selected month from the Open To Buy Department Settings displays.

Total Planned SalesThe total planned sales for all categories for the department within the given month displays.

Total Planned Inventory EOMThe total planned end-of-month inventory balance for all categories for the department within the given month displays.

Once you select a category and make changes, click on Add to save your changes or Clear to abandon your changes.
